Runs At A Premium As Crestwood Panthers Defeats Southland Vikings

Both teams were strong on the mound Wednesday, but Crestwood Panthers defeated Southland Vikings 3-2. Crestwood Panthers pitchers allowed just seven hits to Southland Vikings.

Southland Vikings took an early lead in the second inning when PJ Raines's sac fly scored one run for Southland Vikings. In the bottom of the first inning, Crestwood Panthers tied things up at one. Maurey Garrett grounded out, scoring one run.

Crestwood Panthers took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Reggie Brock, Jr. singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Jake Miller earned the win for Crestwood Panthers.

He allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out one. Jackson Shepherd threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Shepherd recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Crestwood Panthers. Justin Ruthrauff took the loss for Southland Vikings. He surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five.

Chris Torres started the game for Crestwood Panthers. He surrendered two runs on five hits over three innings, striking out four Crestwood Panthers scattered nine hits in the game. Brock, Jr. and Shane Peisker all collected multiple hits for Crestwood Panthers. Brock, Jr. led Crestwood Panthers with three hits in four at bats. Frank Napleton went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Southland Vikings in hits.
