Daniel Reiter

Co-Manager of Broadcast and Media Relations

Palos Park native Daniel Reiter is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he worked for the Daily Illini and WPGU-FM 107.1 as an on-air sports reporter, anchor and blogger covering football, hockey, women’s basketball, track and field, and of course, baseball as well as softball. His credits include hosting and co-anchoring live pregame Standing Room Only radio broadcasts held before Illini football games, providing live pregame and intermission radio coverage for Illini hockey games, anchoring the 5 p.m. Sportscast radio program as well as writing regular blog entries for the DI Sports Wrap-Up. Highlights of his early career include preview and live coverage of the Illinois-UCLA Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl Game from San Francisco, live coverage of Illini men’s and women’s basketball games from Chicago’s United Center and coverage of the Women’s Basketball Big Ten Tournament. Last summer, he assisted the Chicago White Sox with Double Duty Classic and related activities. Danny completed his senior honors thesis entitled The Globalization of the NBA: Effects on the Racial and Cultural Lines of the Sport under sports historian and U of I Professor Adrian Burgos, Jr., noted author of several books on Latino and Negro League contributions to baseball.
