Alex Wolanski went 0-0 as Joliet Admirals took home a 5-2 victory over the Southland Vikings in seven innings at Wayne L. King Jr. Field on Thursday.
Steven Skolarz baffled the Southland Vikings , striking out six batters. Skolarz allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over six innings. Joliet Admirals went up for good in the second, scoring three runs on a sacrifice fly by Zach Thomas and two singles.
Two runs in the top of the fourth helped the Southland Vikings close their deficit to 3-2. An RBI single by Chris Stevens and an RBI single by Jesse Forestell gave the Southland Vikings life. Finally, Skolarz induced an inning-ending fly out from Clark Brinkman.
Joliet Admirals tacked on another two runs in the fifth. Chris Hipchen singled, plating Matt Sullivan to start the inning.
