By: Griffin Winiecki

In what was a very good game from start to finish, the Vikings could not get it done today as the Panthers won 7-6. The starting pitchers on the day were Andrew Early for the Vikings and Max Hoogeveen.

To start the game the Vikings took a 2 run lead in the first when Isaiah Steinhilber had a 2 RBI groundout. The Panthers answered back in the 4th, thanks to a single by Jack Salzeider and a walk by Aroldo Velazquez, which tied the game up at 2. It wasn'tuntil the bottom of the 6th where the Panthers scored 3 runs making it a 5-2 ballgame.

Right after the 6th the Vikings took the lead back thanks to a 2 RBI inning from Zach Norwine and a hit from Preston Lund. It was a 6-5 ballgame for the Vikings entering the bottom of the 9th until Vinnie Marvucic hit a sac fly to tie the game, and Arnoldo Velzquez singled in the game winning run.

In what was a hard fought game throughout the Vikings had their best display of hitting today against the Panthers. Coach Jake Hunt on talking about facing two tough losses, "The guys just have to have confidence and trust themselves, they know they're good ballplayers."
