Whether it was great at bats or great pitching, the Vikings did it all today at Dowling Park against the Generals. Trey Pitcock got the nod to start today for the Vikings and boy did he shove. Pitcock pitched all 7 innings for the Vikings and totaled himself: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R (2 Earned) and 6 K's. Coach Hunt said after the game, "Trey was on all day and pitched a gem today".
Now we have to talk about the hitting for the Vikings. In what was a very troubilng game from losing to the Oilmen and only getting 1 hit, it was a completely different ball game for the Vikings as they had 14 totatl hits and drew 8 walks. Today was a great way to respond after a tough battle Friday. Hitters: Nick Mangano, Preston Lund, Charles Bergin, and James Kirk all recorded 1 or more RBIS today which contributed greatly to the 14-4 win.
The Vikings look to improve their 2-5 record by taking on the Generals again but this time at Hessville Park at 5:00 PM Tuesday 6/11.
