Vikings lose tough one against Miracle

By: Griffin Winiecki

In what turned out to be a confusion in the times for the start of some Northern League action, the Vikings visited the Miracle at Elkhart on Friday evening to get a lead out of the 1-1 series record this season. To start the Miracle started Cristopher Gonzalez and the Vikings started Mason Leckrone. Both pitchers appeared in the first game of the season and now face each other in the 9th for the Vikings.

In the first, the Miracle jumped out to a 1-0 lead after a double. Following off of that in the 2nd, the Miracle added another run making the score 2-0. The 4th is where the Miracle started getting on the bags and putting the ball into play making it a 4-0 lead and slashed the last 3 of their runs in the 6th.

Cristopher Gonzalez for the Miracle was dealing all night going 8 innings and striking out 14 Vikings batters throughout his start. Leckrone through 6 innings of play struck out 4.

In what was a rush from start to finish the Vikings just didn't look like themselves today at the plate or in the field. The Vikings will look to get past this weekend and start the next week off right taking on the Panthers on Monday at Dowling Park.
