Vikings couldn't keep up, lose to Miracle 5-4

By: Griffin Winiecki

It was a hot Friday for the Vikings as they visited the Miracle in a much needed win in a game that starts a tough weekend. The Vikings gave the starting nod over to Andrew Early as the Vikings were looking to even the series between the 2 teams which was 2-1 Miracle.

Things got started early in the top of the 1st when it was Preston Lund who added a run from a fielder's choice to make the score 1-0. Then, it was a Bryce Lesher 2 run homerun that gave Elkhart the upper hand, 2-1. Later in the top of the third, Micheal Lustina scores to even the score up at 2. It was a close battle throughout the game until the bottom of the 7th, where it was the Miracle who put on 3 runs from a couple walks and a single.

The Vikings then tacked on a couple runs in the top of the 8th off of a Miracle error, but then it was game over after the Miracle put down the Vikings on outs to end the game 5-4 in favor of the Miracle. This game was a close pitching duel until the 7th where Early and the Vikings saw trouble.

The Vikings play Saturday where they visit the Oilmen at Oil City at 7:00 PM in what will be another great game between the two teams.
