Vikings lose another to the Oilmen

By: Griffin Winiecki

The Vikings, who hadn't played a game since last Sunday were motivated to get out there and play. They would be visiting the Oilmen in Oil City Stadium in Whiting on Saturday. It was Kaden Kumzi whose last appearance was a zero run zero hit one inning of work against the Griffith Generals. Kumzi's last start he recorded 8 strikeouts against the Generals.

The bottom of the first is where the Oilmen struck first, when they scored a run on a bases loaded groundout. In the 2nd, the Oilmen just kept adding on to their lead when the Oilmen homered and doubled to score a run making the score 4-0 Oilmen. The Vikings answered back with two runs of their own in the top of the 3rd but after that the Vikings remained scorelss and the Oilmen kept adding on until the final score of the game was 8-2 Oilmen.

It was a rough outing for the Vikings who were a little rusty after not playing for quite awhile. The Vikings make the trip to Elkhart Saturday at 5:00 PM CT where it will be their last game before the all star break.
